Camp Wilder ended today so Madeleine is now officially done with Wilder. I can't believe her time at Wilder has come to an end. It was the perfect school for her and I am so happy she had such a wonderful first school experience. Wilder is a truly special place and I know she will miss it but she is ready to move on. She has learned so much and grown so much. When she started at Wilder she was very quiet and spent her time with her friend Brandon, she didn't talk much, or show her true personality. Now, almost two years later, she is confident and outgoing. I watched her on the playgound laughing, playing, and calling out to other kids. She has developed friendships with kids from other classes that I didn't even know she knew. It is amazing to watch her develop relationships with people on her own and see her confidence.

Here is a self portrait that she drew at the beginning of this school year.
Here is one that she drew at the end of the school year.
I have struggled with what to do
with all the art that comes home from school and with various keep
sakes. Madeleine finishing Wilder finally motivated me to put together
notebooks of her art and keepsakes. She has a notebook from each school
year and I hope to continue this through high school. It has been so
fun for her to be able to look through them.
