Final weeks of summer

We have had a lot of fun the last few weeks of summer.  The girls had a few birthday parties, we went to the beach and pool a lot, and did a few other fun things.  The summer flew by way too fast this year.

Claire really liked the ice bucket challenge.
We spent a night out at Gurnet which is off of Duxbury beach.  Our friend rented a cottage next to the light house.  The whole playgroup went and it was a great day/night.

Madeleine and Claire did Colleen's camp.  They love it every year.

Madeleine has started reading a lot more.
We spent the day in Marion, MA at a friend's pool
The girls have discovered they love the jacuzzi tub.
So tired she passed out on the floor
Lots of dining on the deck
We love the beach

Beach weekend

We had an amazing beach weekend.  We spent Friday and Saturday afternoons/evenings at the beach.  Nothing is better than having dinner at the beach and watching the sunset while the kids play.

The boys (and men) had a game of baseball going.  I was surprised Paul hit the ball pretty well and even slid into first.

No Dux night is complete without corn hole.
Our group has stepped it up this year and now bring grills to the beach.
When Madeleine saw the table of food she said, "wow its like a feast at the beach."
 Warming up by the fire
The kids love doing s'mores at the beach.  Or anywhere, really.

Madeleine practicing her SUP skills on dry land
The girls found a giant piece of seaweed to jump rope with.
We brought the left over sparklers from the 4th of July.  They are illegal in Massachusetts so some of the kids had never seen them before.  Thanks to my Mom and Dad for smuggling them in!
Picture doesn't do the sunset justice.

Back in Hingham

We have been back from MV for two weeks and although it was sad to leave we have been having lots of fun being back.  We have spent most days at either the beach or the pool.  I often wonder if my kids will ever know how lucky they are getting to go to the beach almost everyday.  They spend hours and hours playing with all their friends at the beach.  Maybe if they ever move to a land locked state they will appreciate how lucky they were as kids.

All three have been loving the pool and will spend hours in it.

even a tiny pool is entertaining.

Madeleine took a week of swim lessons.  It was the most intense lessons she has done and involved lots and lots of laps and working on all of the strokes.  It was hard work but she loved it.

Blueberry picking.  We made lots of yummy blueberry treats.
