Words, naps, and potty

 It has been a busy week around here...

Claire has stopped napping and does not seem to miss it and she started potty training on Saturday. She started to drop her nap a couple of weeks ago but she would still hang out in her room for about an hour while Madeleine was at school and Bridget napped but this week Madeleine didn't have school so Claire didn't even rest. She also started potty training which has been going okay, not great, but she is definitely ready and has only had a couple accidents over the past couple days.

She still isn't walking as a mode of transportation. She can do it but she prefers to crawl. My guess is that she crawls because she can crawl a lot faster than she can walk. 

Signs of spring

When the Forsythia turns yellow I get very happy!  I love these first signs of spring and warm weather.  The kids have loved spending the past week outside in the sun.

House Project

Before we even saw our house in person Paul and I started talking about the changes we would want to make in the kitchen.  Then we saw the house and we knew the kitchen needed work and as we have lived here we started to realize it needed a lot of work because the layout and size doesn't work for our family.  We have spent the past two years working with an architect, kitchen designers, and builders to come up with a functional space that we think will be great for our family.  We are excited that the work has started and should be completed by the end of summer.

April 5

They put up the hay to protect the conservation land behind our house.

April 7

 Paul cut down a tree to make room for the new landing to the outside.

They started working on April 8 and this is what it looked like by April 10.

April 17

They framed it our and got the new roof on really fast but now the detail work starts so I am sure things will slow way down.  It will still be really exciting to see the progress as it goes and slowing down isn't so bad because we still haven't finalized our kitchen design or picked out all of our appliances.

Break out the sunglasses

Last week started to actually feel like spring.  We spent as much time outside as possible.  The girls have been having fun with their new lacrosse sticks, playing soccer, and playing on the swing set.  Bridget loves to be outside and even tries to escape the house if the garage door is left open.  I can't wait for her to start walking because she gets filthy crawling outside and goes through several outfits a day.  Of course, I didn't have my camera outside much so these are totally random pictures.
