Moving onto Christmas

The day after Thanksgiving Madeleine was ready to move on to Christmas.  She wanted me to take all of the Thanksgiving/Fall stuff down so we could decorate for Christmas.  She the sat down to write a letter to santa.

Harry, our elf on the shelf, arrived the day after Thanksgiving.  Madeleine was so excited to see him.  Claire was a little nervous.  I found her hiding later in the day and she told me she didn't want "him" to see her.

On Saturday we put up the Christmas tree.

Aussie Cuisine at KO

"To be an immigrant is to live in a perpetual state of gratitude mixed with longing. You love your adopted country, are thankful for its opportunities. You get to a point where a place that once felt like another planet is home. But you’ll always be bound to the place where you grew up, too. Sometimes its pull can hurt pretty badly. And all you want is to taste the food you grew up with."

A few weeks ago Lisa sent me a link to a local Australia restaurant and catering company in East Boston.  We headed in on Sunday to check it out and fill up on some Aussie cuisine.

Claire tries a lamington.  She had already polished off the anzac "biscuit"

Madeleine wanted nothing to do with any of the food.  The only thing she would eat was a Mars bar.

Claire helped Paul with a sausage roll
After leaving the restaurant we went to a near by playground because it was a beautiful day out and the playground had a nice view of the water and Boston.

8 month old trouble maker

Bridget is a mobile, adventurous and lovable little 8 month old.  She always seems to have a smile on her face and she lights up when one of us walks into the room.  She is so cuddly and loving.  She is also very naughty!  She gets into EVERYTHING!  Here are some pictures I captured in one day of her mischievous behavior... I did not capture her splashing in the dog bowl or eating dog food which also happened the same day.

she had her 6 month appointment at 4 days shy of 8 months... She weighed 17.5 pounds which was about 50 percentile.  The nurse messed up her length so I am not sure of her height.

New favorite toys

Really... this is the new favorite toy!  they have been carrying these big scarecrows around for days.  they even want to bring them in the car (I draw the line at that).
