Painting

Madeleine loves to paint. She can sit at the kitchen table painting for hours. Claire likes it too but she doesn't last as long as Madeleine and usually makes a big mess.

She starts off nice and clean

but usually ends up looking like this. Oh well.

Crazy Hair

Bridget Three Weeks

It is hard to believe that Bridget is only 3 weeks old b/c I can't imagine our family without her. Madeleine and Claire are still loving their little sister and being good big sisters. Madeleine is very proud of her and introduces her to everyone. Claire doesn't constantly ask to hold her anymore which is a good thing but she is still very interested in what she is doing and the sounds she makes. Bridget is still a very easy baby. She hardly makes a peep during the day and the nights are slowly getting better. she slept for 5 hours straight a few nights ago. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened again. She is starting to be awake a little more during the day but not much.

First Bath

I gave Bridget her first real bath today. She did not like it at all. She cried pretty much the whole time. Madeleine had fun helping me. Claire wanted nothing to do with helping. She laid on my bed drinking her bottle and yelling, "Bridget. bath."

Since Paul wasn't home to help I did not get very good pictures. Oh well, at least she is clean.

Big Sisters

Madeleine and Claire are such good big sisters to Bridget. Madeleine is really sweet with her. She likes to talk to her and is always saying how cute she is. Claire likes to hold Bridget and try and teach her how to clap. Claire has just started calling her by name instead of just baby. Both girls are very patient when I have to do something with Bridget. Occasionally Claire will tell me to put Bridget down and if I can I do. I was worried that Claire would regress once Bridget came but she has instead seemed to want to grow up and be a big girl. She insists on brushing her teeth, sitting on the bench instead of her highchair, wants to play with Madeleine and Madeleine's friends, and she wants to sit on the potty (she doesn't actually go but she likes to try). Claire is also talking and communicating a ton which is really cute. Overall, everyone is adjusting well to life with a newborn.

Madeleine's 4 year stats

Madeleine had her 4 year well visit today. She weighs 35.6 pounds (55th percentile) and is 41 inches tall (75th percentile). She gained 5.6 pounds over the past year and grew 3 inches.

Claire 20 month stats

We had Claire's 18 month well visit today (a little late since she is 20 months) She is 33 inches tall (82nd percentile) and weighs 27.2 pounds (84th percentile).

Parent of the Day

Paul was parent of the day at Madeleine's school today. She was so excited that he went with her. Sounds like he had fun playing with her and all of her school friends.

Madeleine's Birthday Party

We celebrated Madeleine's 4th birthday with a party at our house on Sunday. The theme was a Mickey Mouse dance party. Madeleine's ballet teacher came and did some dancing and lead party games with the kids. Then we had cake and pizza and a few more games. All of the kids seemed to have a good time and most importantly, Madeleine loved it.

Claire had fun too.
